Water-Soluble NPK Programme for Tomato
Tomato is grown in more ways than almost any other crop — open field, drip, greenhouse, soilless — and that variety is exactly why a single number on a bag cannot describe how a fertilizer should be used. A water soluble fertilizer for tomato is bought for what it does in a system: how completely it dissolves, what it leaves behind, and how its pH behaves in the tank.
We supply macro-element water-soluble fertilizer produced to NY/T 1107-2020 in two confirmed grades: 19-19-19 + 2MgO + TE at 57% minimum total nutrients and 20-20-20 + 2MgO + TE at 60% minimum, both with water-insoluble matter at 1% maximum, moisture at 3.0% maximum and a working pH of 3.0 to 9.0 at 250-times dilution. Anhydrous magnesium sulfate at 98% minimum MgSO4 is available where a magnesium input is part of the programme, and a granular compound at NPK 25-12-8 + 2MgO + 0.2Zn to GB/T 15063-2020 covers open-field blocks worked with a spreader.
This page is written for the people who buy for a tomato operation: protected-culture managers, field-scale growers and the distributors who supply them. It sets out the grades and the figures, and it publishes no rate, no timing and no yield figure, because those depend on your system and your own records.
The problem
What this page is here to solve
One ratio carried through a whole cycle
A single analysis pushed through a season usually over-supplies one element and under-supplies another. Two confirmed water-soluble grades let a programme move between a balanced analysis and a higher-nutrient one without changing the handling, the packing or the dissolution behaviour.
Residue in lines and emitters
Where a crop is fertigated, whatever does not dissolve stays in the system. Water-insoluble matter at 1% maximum and a stated pH range are the figures a system can be designed against, and they are on the technical data sheet rather than left to the trade name.
Tank mixes that are guessed at
Incompatibility between a fertilizer and a crop-protection product, or between two fertilizers, shows up as precipitate in the tank. The working pH range is the first thing to check, and we state it — while being clear that compatibility testing for your specific mix is work for you and your agronomist.
Open field and protected culture treated as one order
A block worked with a spreader and a house fed through drip are two different buying decisions. Having a granular compound for the first and a fully soluble grade for the second, on the same specification sheet, keeps both halves of an operation supplied without two supplier relationships.
Recommended configuration
Confirmed grades behind a tomato programme
The lines below are the confirmed range this page is built on; anything outside it we will flag before you plan around it.
| Product | Confirmed grade & figures | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Macro-element water-soluble fertilizer | 19-19-19 + 2MgO + TE · total nutrients ≥ 57% · water-insoluble matter ≤ 1% · pH 3.0–9.0 at 250× dilution · NY/T 1107-2020 | Balanced grade for drip and fertigation programmes |
| Macro-element water-soluble fertilizer | 20-20-20 + 2MgO + TE · total nutrients ≥ 60% | Higher-nutrient grade in the same systems |
| High-tower compound fertilizer | NPK 25-12-8 + 2MgO + 0.2Zn · total nutrients ≥ 45% · granule 1.5–4.5 mm · GB/T 15063-2020 | Granular base for open-field blocks worked with a spreader |
| Anhydrous magnesium sulfate | MgSO4 ≥ 98% · chloride ≤ 0.2% · water-insoluble matter ≤ 0.10% | Magnesium input where the programme or the water calls for one |
| Packing | 25 kg or 50 kg PP woven bags with PE liner · 1000 kg FIBC with PE liner | Bags for stock-and-mix; jumbo bags for central mixing |
Specifications shown are indicative; the controlling values are those in the technical data sheet (TDS) and the batch certificate of analysis issued for your order.
Why work with us
Written into the quotation, not into an advert
A fertigation programme compares figures rather than adjectives; these are the figures we put in writing.
- Water-insoluble matter, moisture, biuret and working pH stated with every water-soluble grade
- Two confirmed grades in the same handling, so a programme can move without changing the system
- Magnesium declared as MgO and the trace-element package stated rather than implied
- Technical data sheet available before the first order, so the figures can be checked against your system
- Packing chosen for the mixing point: bags for stock-and-mix, jumbo bags for central mixing
- We say what we cannot answer: tank-mix compatibility for your specific products is for you and your agronomist
FAQ
Questions buyers ask about this
- Which water-soluble grades do you supply for tomato?
- Macro-element water-soluble fertilizer at 19-19-19 + 2MgO + TE with total nutrients at 57% minimum, and 20-20-20 + 2MgO + TE at 60% minimum, both produced to NY/T 1107-2020 with water-insoluble matter at 1% maximum and a working pH of 3.0 to 9.0 at 250-times dilution.
- Do these suit both greenhouse and open-field tomato?
- The water-soluble grades suit any operation that feeds through irrigation. For open-field blocks worked with a spreader we also supply a granular compound at NPK 25-12-8 + 2MgO + 0.2Zn to GB/T 15063-2020. Which fits your operation is a decision for you and your agronomist.
- Do you publish application rates?
- No. Rates depend on the system, the growth stage, the water and the rest of the programme, and a rate written by a supplier is not a recommendation for your crop. We state what the product contains and how it behaves in solution.
- Can I tank-mix these with crop-protection products?
- That depends on the specific products and the water, and it is not something we can confirm at a distance. The working pH range of the fertilizer is the first thing to check, and the compatibility test itself is work for you and your agronomist.
- What packing suits a tomato operation?
- 25 kg or 50 kg PP woven bags with a PE liner for stock-and-mix operations, and 1000 kg jumbo bags with a PE liner for central mixing stations. Loading quantities differ between the two, and we issue the loading plan per configuration.
