Anhydrous sodium sulfate is a white, odorless crystalline powder or granule, readily soluble in water with a neutral aqueous solution. It is used as a processing aid and raw material across dyeing, glass manufacture, paper making and detergents. Supplied in industrial grade — not for food or feed use. The specification table below is for the 98% min grade, our standard export grade.

- What is the difference between anhydrous sodium sulfate and sodium sulfate decahydrate (Glauber's salt)?
- The difference is water of crystallisation. Anhydrous sodium sulfate is Na₂SO₄ with no water of crystallisation and a formula weight of 142.04, and it stays free-flowing; sodium sulfate decahydrate is Na₂SO₄·10H₂O with a formula weight of 322.19, and it dissolves in its own water of crystallisation at about 32 °C. For the same mass the anhydrous form carries the higher Na₂SO₄ content — 98% minimum on the grade on this page, against about 44% in the decahydrate — so the two are not interchangeable against a raw-material specification. We supply the anhydrous grade only; the comparison above is a physical one.

- Na₂SO₄ 98.0% min, water-insoluble matter 0.1% max, chloride 0.7% max, iron 0.01% max and moisture 0.5% max. Those are the figures on the technical data sheet. If your process sets a tighter chloride or iron ceiling, say so at enquiry stage — that is a specification question, not something to discover on arrival.
