Water-Soluble and Magnesium Sulphate for Vineyards

A foliar fertilizer for grapes is bought for what happens on the leaf, and the leaf is unforgiving. A product that does not dissolve completely leaves residue at the nozzle; a mix that carries an unstated salt load can scorch the canopy it was meant to help. That is why a vineyard page starts with solubility, pH and the impurity figures rather than with a formula.

Our macro-element water-soluble fertilizer is produced to NY/T 1107-2020 in two confirmed grades — 19-19-19 + 2MgO + TE at 57% minimum total nutrients and 20-20-20 + 2MgO + TE at 60% minimum — with water-insoluble matter at 1% maximum, moisture at 3.0% maximum, biuret at 0.9% maximum and a working pH of 3.0 to 9.0 at 250-times dilution. Anhydrous magnesium sulfate at 98% minimum MgSO4, with chloride at 0.2% maximum, is supplied where a magnesium input is part of the programme.

This page is written for vineyard owners, estate technical managers and the distributors who supply them. It sets out the grades and the figures behind them, and it deliberately publishes no spray rate and no timing: those belong with your agronomist and your own block records.

The problem

What this page is here to solve

Scorch after a spray

Leaf burn usually traces back to concentration, tank-mix order or the salt load in the product rather than to the nutrient ratio. Working pH and the impurity figures decide how aggressive a mix is, and both are stated with our grades on the technical data sheet.

Residue that blocks nozzles and filters

Undissolved material costs a spray twice: once in the blocked nozzle and again in the row that gets no coverage. Complete dissolution at the dilution you actually run is the requirement, and a stated water-insoluble figure is how a buyer checks it before the season rather than during it.

Magnesium that arrives with chloride

Where a vineyard wants magnesium but not extra chloride, the source decides whether the programme stays where it was planned. Anhydrous magnesium sulfate states both figures — MgSO4 at 98% minimum and chloride at 0.2% maximum — so a magnesium correction can be planned deliberately.

Grades that behave differently batch to batch

A vineyard sprays many times a season, and each repetition multiplies small differences. What a buyer needs is a grade whose figures do not move: the same dissolution behaviour, the same pH range, the same reading on the certificate of analysis, shipment after shipment.

The table shows the confirmed lines this page is built on; anything outside it we will flag before you plan around it.

Why work with us

Written into the quotation, not into an advert

A spray programme is only as repeatable as the grade behind it; these are the points we put in writing.

  • Solubility, water-insoluble matter, moisture, biuret and working pH stated with the grade
  • Batch certificate of analysis with every shipment, so figures can be checked batch by batch
  • A magnesium option with chloride stated at 0.2% maximum, for a chloride-free programme
  • Technical data sheet available before the order, for the agronomist as well as the buyer
  • Two confirmed grades in the same handling, so a programme change does not change the mixing
  • We do not publish spray rates or timing; the programme belongs with your agronomist

FAQ

Questions buyers ask about this

Which grades do you supply for vineyard programmes?
Macro-element water-soluble fertilizer at 19-19-19 + 2MgO + TE (total nutrients ≥ 57%) and 20-20-20 + 2MgO + TE (≥ 60%), both to NY/T 1107-2020, plus anhydrous magnesium sulfate at 98% minimum MgSO4 with chloride at 0.2% maximum.
What should I check before choosing a foliar grade?
Solubility at the dilution you use, water-insoluble matter, working pH and the impurity figures such as biuret, because those decide how the mix behaves on the leaf. The confirmed grades here state water-insoluble matter at 1% maximum, biuret at 0.9% maximum and a working pH of 3.0 to 9.0 at 250-times dilution.
Can these be tank-mixed with other products?
That depends on the specific products, the water and the order of mixing, and it is not something we can confirm at a distance. Checking the working pH of the fertilizer against the other product is the first step, and compatibility testing is work for you and your agronomist.
Do you publish spray rates or timing?
No. Rates and timing depend on the variety, the growth stage, the tank mix and local conditions, and a number published by a supplier is not a recommendation for your block. We state what the product contains and how it behaves in solution.
What packing suits a vineyard?
25 kg or 50 kg PP woven bags with a PE liner for field mixing, and 1000 kg jumbo bags with a PE liner for central mixing and larger areas. Loading quantities differ, which the loading plan states for your configuration.
