Industrial (technical) grade ammonium chloride is a white crystalline powder or granule, odorless, readily soluble in water with a weakly acidic solution. It is used as a battery raw material, an electroplating auxiliary, a welding flux and a dyeing and tanning auxiliary. This page covers NON-FERTILIZER use only — the fertilizer-grade product carries a different customs classification and mandatory export inspection, and is handled as a separate product.

- Our standard export minimum is one 20'GP container (approx. 25 MT). For a first order we can discuss a smaller trial quantity.
- Is this the same ammonium chloride sold as fertilizer?
- No, and the two are not interchangeable. This is the technical grade, NH₄Cl 99.3% min, for batteries, electroplating, welding flux and dyeing. Fertilizer-grade ammonium chloride is classified and inspected differently and is quoted as a separate product. Tell us the intended use at enquiry stage so the correct grade is quoted the first time.
- Powder or crystalline — which suits my process?
- Powder is the general industrial form and is easier to blend and dissolve. The crystalline form is normally chosen for metal treatment and battery work, where dust and flow behave differently in the feed. Both are the same 99.3% min material; the difference is physical form, not analysis.
- Can I see the batch analysis before shipment?
- Yes. A batch analysis report for the actual lot is available on request, and the batch record travels with the shipment. Ask for it at order stage, not after loading, so the analysis you approve is the analysis that ships.
