Fully Water-Soluble Fertilizers for Drip and Fertigation Systems

A fertilizer for fertigation is judged by what it does not leave behind. In a drip system the nutrient solution passes through filters, valves and emitters that cannot be cleaned once they are buried, so the figures that matter are water-insoluble matter, pH of the working solution and how completely the product goes into solution at field dilution — not the headline nutrient ratio alone.

Our macro-element water-soluble fertilizer is produced to NY/T 1107-2020 in two confirmed grades: 19-19-19 + 2MgO + TE at total nutrients 57% minimum, and 20-20-20 + 2MgO + TE at 60% minimum, both with water-insoluble matter at 1% maximum and a working pH range of 3.0 to 9.0 at 250-times dilution. Those are the numbers a system designer can work with, and they are stated on the technical data sheet rather than left to the trade name.

This page is written for the people who specify irrigation: plantation and estate engineers, protected-culture operations, and the distributors who supply them. It covers what the grades are, how they behave in a system, and what to confirm before the first tank is filled.

The problem

What this page is here to solve

Emitters that clog in the first season

A grade can be called water-soluble and still leave residue at field dilution. Water-insoluble matter, the form of the phosphate and the dilution you actually run at decide whether sediment forms in the line. We quote the water-insoluble figure and the pH range with the grade, so the specification is on the table before the system is installed rather than after the first blockage.

Nutrient ratios that do not match the growth stage

A single ratio carried through a whole cycle usually over-supplies one element and under-supplies another. The two confirmed grades let a programme move between a balanced analysis and a higher-nutrient analysis without changing the handling, packing or dissolution behaviour — the system stays the same while the programme changes.

Trace-element packages that are not stated

A crop programme needs to know what is in the trace-element package, not that there is one. Our grades carry magnesium as MgO and a stated trace-element package, so the secondary and micronutrient contribution is written down and can be balanced against the rest of the programme.

Mixing problems in the tank

Incompatibility between a fertilizer and a crop-protection product, or between two fertilizers, shows up as precipitate in the tank. The working pH range is the first thing to check, and the technical data sheet states it. We also tell you plainly that compatibility testing for your specific tank mix is work for you and your agronomist, not a claim we can make at a distance.

Recommended configuration

Recommended configuration for a fertigation programme

The two confirmed water-soluble grades cover most fertigation programmes; magnesium sulfate is added where the water or the programme needs a magnesium source.

Recommended configuration for a fertigation programme

Macro-element water-soluble fertilizer19-19-19 + 2MgO + TE · total nutrients ≥ 57% · moisture ≤ 3.0% · water-insoluble matter ≤ 1% · pH 3.0–9.0 at 250× dilution · NY/T 1107-2020Balanced grade for continuous fertigation and for blended programmes
Macro-element water-soluble fertilizer20-20-20 + 2MgO + TE · total nutrients ≥ 60%Higher-nutrient grade in the same systems, where a stronger analysis is wanted
Anhydrous magnesium sulfateMgSO4 ≥ 98% · water-insoluble matter ≤ 0.10% · chloride ≤ 0.2%Magnesium and sulfur source to add where the programme or the irrigation water calls for it

Why work with us

Written into the quotation, not into an advert

Fertigation buyers compare figures, not adjectives. These are the things we put in writing for an irrigation customer.

  • Water-insoluble matter, moisture, biuret and working pH stated with every water-soluble grade
  • Two confirmed grades that share the same handling, so a programme change does not change the system
  • Magnesium content declared as MgO, with the trace-element package stated rather than implied
  • Technical data sheet available before the first order, so the figures can be checked against your system
  • Packing chosen for the mixing point: bags for stock-and-mix, jumbo bags for central mixing
  • We say what we cannot answer: tank-mix compatibility for your specific products is for you and your agronomist

FAQ

Questions buyers ask about this

What makes a fertilizer suitable for drip irrigation?
Complete solubility at the dilution you actually run, a stated water-insoluble figure, and a working pH range you can check against the rest of the programme. The confirmed water-soluble grades here state water-insoluble matter at 1% maximum and a pH of 3.0 to 9.0 at 250-times dilution, which is the kind of figure a system designer can work with.
Which grades do you supply for fertigation?
Two confirmed macro-element water-soluble grades: 19-19-19 + 2MgO + TE with total nutrients at 57% minimum, and 20-20-20 + 2MgO + TE with total nutrients at 60% minimum, both produced to NY/T 1107-2020. Anhydrous magnesium sulfate at 98% minimum MgSO4 is supplied where the programme needs a magnesium source.
Can I mix these with crop-protection products in the tank?
That depends on the specific products and the water, and it is not something we can confirm at a distance. The working pH range of the fertilizer is the first thing to check, and the technical data sheet states it. The compatibility test itself is work for you and your agronomist, or for the manufacturer of the other product.
Do you publish application rates for drip systems?
No. Rates depend on the crop, the soil, the irrigation water, the growth stage and the rest of the programme, and a rate written on a supplier's website is not a recommendation for your field. We state what the product contains, and the programme itself belongs with your agronomist or extension service.
What packing suits a fertigation operation?
Operations that mix in a stock tank usually take 25 kg or 50 kg bags with a PE liner; central mixing stations and large blocks usually take 1000 kg jumbo bags. Loading quantities differ between the two, and we issue the loading plan per packing configuration before booking.
